Sam has been a member of the REACH team since March 2017. She started as a volunteer, then a research assistant, and is now a 1+3 PhD student currently finishing her MSc in Global Mental Health at King's and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Sam has a background in criminology and law and her PhD will be looking into the mental health and social implications of early contact with the criminal justice system and school exclusions. She hopes to better understand young people's perception of police powers, such as stop and search, and examine school policies on suspension and exclusion.
