Michael Afram

Michael is currently undertaking his undergraduate studies in Psychology and Criminology at the University of Sussex. Michael started as a REACH volunteer in 2018 on a work experience placement and then became a member of the Young Person’s Advisory Group. He joined the team as a Data Collection Assistant in August 2020 and hopes to continue his studies at King’s College London.

Working with REACH, I have gained insight into how social media, mental health and ethnicity can all interact. Emphasising the need for a holistic approach to be taken when studying mental health in young people. Growing up in London, I saw the need for culturally relevant research, and I hope REACH is just the start of my work with young people and their experiences.
